Caroline finishes the West Highland Way

We are delighted to report the news that our Donor Development Manager, Caroline McKay, has become the first woman to run the West Highland Way in one go during mid-Winter.

This is a quite astonishing achievement. Running from the famous Fort William to Milngavie continuously for 25 hours, Caroline covered over 95 miles of tough terrain, including steep climbs and rocky paths. Beginning at a few minutes after 9pm, a large majority of Caroline’s run was under the cover of darkness, it was only when she reached the 55-mile point that the sun had risen!

Caroline takes on the West Highland Way!

Link’s Donor Development Manager, Caroline McKay, is taking on a unique challenge that will push her body to the limit, just in time for Christmas!

The 95 mile West Highland Way Race is usually run in midsummer. It’s a race Caroline has run twice in varying conditions. Always a little intrigued about what it would be like to run the trail - which travels from Milngavie just outside Glasgow up to Fort William - in midwinter, this year she’s going to give it a go to try and raise some Christmas cash for Link's work in Africa.
