We are thrilled to announce a new partnership with the University of Portsmouth Cheerleading Squad which aims to raise over £1000 to help impoverished children and communities in sub-Saharan Africa to access quality education.
Liyah Thompson, President at Portsmouth Phoenix said, ‘We feel that it is important to raise money for charity. Our raising and giving campaigns allow us to give back in the best way we know how, through cheerleading. Already seeing the great work that Link has done makes us even more excited to be working with this great charity to provide essential education to those who otherwise would not be able to!’ ‘
We’re thrilled to be working with Portsmouth Phoenix this year to help bring our life-changing work to more children in Africa. With their support, we can make an even bigger impact and help communities to break free from poverty. (Lyndsey Rae, Link)
The special partnership, planned to span the 2018/9 academic year, will kick-off with a sponsored ‘Go Green for Link’ week in the first week of October. Club members will be training in green, socialising in green and raising awareness around campus of what Link do.
“We’re really excited to kick off our partnership with Link and we look forward to completing as many fundraising events as we can!” – (Philippa Morris, Raising and Giving Secretary of Portsmouth Phoenix Cheerleading Club)
With a number of other fundraising activities planned throughout the academic year and an enthusiastic, energetic squad of students, this promises to be a fruitful, and most of all fun, charity partnership.
