Improving the quality of education in Africa

Our Organisation

About Link Community Development

Link Community Development (Link) is a family of organisations that envisions a world where every child has access to a quality education. Supported by our International office in Edinburgh, Scotland, Link works with our partner organisations in Ethiopia, Ghana, Malawi, Rwanda and Uganda, supporting nearly 2 million children in over 3,000 schools during 25 successful years. Working directly with schools, communities and government, Link provides support and training for more effective teaching, improved school management, increased community engagement and better learner outcomes.

Please read on for details on the structure of our family of organisation, including information about our finances.

Our Structure

Link Community Development International is a charity recognised and registered with the Charities Commission in England and Wales (Registration Number: 1048007) and with the Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator (Registration Number: SCO37959). Our international office is based in Edinburgh, Scotland, supporting and overseeing the ground delivery of projects by our family organisations across sub-Saharan Africa.
Each in-country Link organisation is independently registered and constituted within the country in which they are based, with their own Programme Director, national staff and Board of Directors (except Ethiopia, who have a Board of Advisors). Although they are independent from our International charity in the UK, the member organisations all choose to work together as part of the ‘Link Family’. This allows us to achieve the biggest possible impact for our beneficiaries.
